In the Marylebone York Terrace project, we kept the classic Georgian windows and their proportions. At the same time, we introduced contemporary interiors suited to modern living.

Yet, restoring Georgian buildings comes with challenges. Original materials, such as lime mortar and handmade bricks, need careful repairs or replacements using the same type.

Balancing the historic character with modern energy efficiency standards requires a thoughtful approach. Yet, the result is always worth it—timeless elegance paired with modern comfort.

Victorian Style: A Tribute in Berkeley Court 1

The Victorian era brought architectural experimentation and a love for ornate detail. Victorian homes show styles from Gothic Revival to Italianate. They have detailed cornices, striking window frames, and fancy fireplaces.

For Berkeley Court 1, we drew inspiration from the Victorian love for drama and grandeur. We added statement chandeliers, bold contrasts, and subtle decorative details.

Working with Victorian properties presents unique challenges. Many of these homes have old materials that need fixing or replacing. This includes sash windows and delicate plasterwork. 

Our team skillfully blends these delicate historical elements with contemporary comforts. This method keeps the home’s historical charm and helps it run well today.

Edwardian Simplicity: Influencing Our Hyde Park Gate Project

The Edwardian period took on a lighter, simpler style than the ornate Victorian era. Homes from this era often had red brick fronts, sash windows, and fine stone details.

In our Hyde Park Gate project, we drew from the Edwardian ethos of simplicity and natural light. We created a dining room that blends traditional elegance with modern updates.

Contemporary London design embraces innovation, sustainability, and minimalism. It often combines clean lines with natural materials. Our Parkside 1 project features neutral tones, a sleek fireplace, and open-plan areas designed for comfort and function.

This is very different from older materials, such as hand-fired bricks or lime plaster. The challenge is to keep the design warm and inviting, even with its minimalist look.
